Bye-bye Costa Rica…
I can’t explain how grateful I am to have been able to travel to Costa Rica and work with the youth and local community members at Centro Juvenil Amingo (Community Centre) in Moravia. I met so many wonderful people – the kids took my heart, seeing the smiles on their faces. Thank you to everyone who supported our latest Renouveau mission.
We so appreciate our community of contributors – those who attended and made donations to our fundraising dinner held Sunday December 8th, 2019. With your help, we were able to successfully complete our humanitarian trip to Costa Rica that took place December 10 – 17th, 2019.
During our visit we had the opportunity to work with 70 vulnerable youth at the centre and in the community. We provided them with personalized gift packages that included hygiene products such as toothbrushes and toothpaste donated by a local dentist here in Niagara. We also delivered soccer shoes, socks, jersey that were put to good use during, soccer tournaments that we organized during our stay and will continue on an ongoing basis.
During my visit I conducted workshops with some of the young women to teach them how to make handbags using t-shirt – encouraging and promoting recycling through the reuse of materials. I was honoured to assist in cooking a Haitian dinner that we shared at a large family gathering of local families at the centre.
With your support, we were able to bring the Christmas spirit to this community in Costa Rica. We thank you for your role in helping with our Renouveau social enterprise vision and hope that you will continue to participate with us in the future.
Thank you for all of your support and thank you for helping make a difference.
